About Mrs. Hacker:
Education
I have an Associate's degree in Mental Health from Wallace State Community College, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Athens State University, a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Athens State University, and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from A & M University.
Experience
I have five years’ experience in teaching preschool and 24 years’ experience in teaching first grade in the Limestone County School system. I have also completed an extensive internship at Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa where I specialized in mental illness in young children. I have eight years’ experience in serving as an adjunct professor at Athens State University.
I currently serve as a presenter for "New Teachers' Academy" in Limestone County. I am also a 4Mat trainer and conduct workshops for learning style training sessions. I have conducted numerous workshops for the Alabama Reading Association and currently serve as an active board member and membership director for this organization.
BIO
I am married to Gerry Hacker. He is a scientist at Teledyne Brown Engineering. We have one daughter, Lindsay Crowson. She is 32 years old and is married to Jason Crowson. They have one child, Finn, who is 6 years old. (Finn is the light of my life!) I attend church at Fairview Baptist in East Limestone. I enjoy reading, shopping and spending time with my family.
