Cedar Hill Elementary has a comprehensive guidance program. Group guidance, small group and individual counseling are offered. The counselor works with students in four essential areas: personal development, educational development, social development and career development. Emphasis is placed on the success of each child at Cedar Hill , academically, socially and developmentally. Parent conferences are welcomed. Working together, this can be a positive experience for each child. Please take time to look at the Activity Calendars for March and April that are posted in the forms section of guidance. It has some great activities you can share with your child. Also, in the news section are some hints for dealing with everyday concerns you might have with your child. Check them out! We are beginning a unit on conflict resolution and handling bullies in all grade levels. Our children have to be able to interact with others in a positive manner. They have to become problem solvers. We will be discussing strategies for both skills. Encourage your child to become a "thinker" when a problem arises. Consider the consequences of choices to be made. The more successful he/she is, the more successful he/she will be as an adult. Cedar Hill Counseling Program
